Through our partnerships with After School Matters and the Chicago Park District, MCYP provides Uptown youth with the opportunity to have fun, build relationships, and learn basketball & life skills through the Uptown Basketball League, or UBL. The UBL is a 6-8 team league that occurs every Spring drawing youth from a variety of ethnicities, experiences, & skill levels.
Although our league is competitive, our primary goal is to provide a space where every youth is welcome and safe. We have an incredible volunteer staff of basketball coaches who take time out of their busy professional lives to coach and act as positive adult mentors for our youth. Some of our coaches are even former UBL players who have decided to give back to our community!
If you are an interested youth/parent or interested in sponsoring our league, please contact Steve via email at stevehosikmoon@mcypyouth.org . League registration typically opens in the beginning of March & ends in early April. Registration for the 2010 season is closed.
