I like to write, socialize, travel, eat, laugh, and love. I do everything I can that MCYP offers such as, dance, write, cook, fight, act, draw, reflect, march, sing, play, and rest the day away. The Immigration Reform rally that took place on Sunday, March 21, 2010 was a historic march that will forever go down in history as being one of the most influential, motivating movement of people; a modern day Exodus. I for one can relate personally to such a meaningful event for when I traveled on the bus, a 15 hour drive from here (Chicago) to D.C., I was not expecting to venture to a place where hundreds of thousands of people rallied to support a right for which we should all already have- legal immigration.

I had the opportunity to interview people of different races and beliefs who all shared a common goal and who all were motivated to make a change not just for themselves, but for their families, friends and communities. I marched to the National Mall on an abnormally, excessively hot March day where the scorching sun made it not hard for one to catch a sunburn let alone collapse right under they stood. But the remarkable thing is that nobody fainted from the heat. Everyone stood their ground and fought through the burning temperature and relentlessly and energetically chanted the words “Si Se Puede! Si Se Puede!” I could not believe a human being could endure such lengths of motivation and I too became motivated and involved in the historic rally.

If I learned anything from this march, it was that I will never again question the importance immigration reform has over documented the undocumented people and that a change is essential if we are ever going to move foreword in this quest for equality. And on that note I too can chant the words “Si Se Puede!” for I have been, heard and seen the face of change America is headed for and I too am proud to say that I am a warrior for immigration reform.

Rules for 3 Point Shoot Out: One Rep from Each Team to take the 3 Point Shootout Challenge!

Rules for Shooting Stars: Each team will send 2 players & the Coach to participate against each team.
